Join the HERE for Android public beta group today and test our latest app feature, a new shortcut menu accessible from a single press anywhere on the map.
We’re on a mission to make HERE the best map and location app across devices around the world and we need your help. We’ve accelerated our release cycle so we are constantly working on bug fixes, adding new features and shipping updated versions of the app. And we’re launching this public beta program to help us get performance data and feedback from users across a range of Android devices to help us identify issues and iterate new versions even faster.
If you like to test new features, don’t mind giving us your honest and open feedback and have an Android device (requires Android version 4.1 or higher; 1 GB of RAM; app is optimized for screen sizes from 4 to 6.9 inches) then you should sign up, starting today.
We’re kicking off the public beta program on HERE for Android with a new ‘contextual menu’ feature to test; a single, long-press anywhere on the map brings up a shortcut menu to quickly see location information, share a location, get directions or start drive navigation.
Here’s how to start testing and leave feedback
1) Join the HERE Beta Program Google group.
2) Visit this link on your mobile device and click on Become a Tester. Please note, you must join the HERE Beta Program group first (from step 1) before you can become a tester.
3) Open the Play Store app on your mobile device and install or update the HERE app with the beta version by choosing Update or Install.
4) Use the app as you normally would and tell us what you think or report problems using the Feedback option in the HERE menu of the app or email us directly at email@example.com.
Please note, the beta version will replace the regular HERE app on your device. Because the beta app will have features that are still a work in progress, the app may appear less stable or not behave as expected. Please let us know when that happens: it will help with the development process!
You can leave the beta program and download the regular version of HERE on the Play Store at any time. Since we are rolling out new tests each month and need to compile feedback quickly, we can only offer the beta test version in English.
There will be new fixes or features to test every month once you join. You’ll see a description of what’s new to test in the HERE beta app description on the Play Store. We’ll also announce any special new test features for the beta group here on the blog as well, so be sure to bookmark HERE 360.
The sign-up instructions and some troubleshooting tips can be found on the HERE Beta Program group welcome page.
We’re excited to extend our testing coverage and get feedback with some of our most engaged users!
